What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help services remember your preferences and keep you logged in between visits.
What cookies does Veya use?
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* (Supabase auth) | Keeps you signed in. Stores your authentication session token. | Strictly necessary | Session / up to 7 days |
| veya_cookie_ok (localStorage) | Remembers that you dismissed this cookie notice. Stored in localStorage, not a cookie. | Strictly necessary | Persistent |
| Umami analytics | Measures page views and general usage to help us improve the product. Does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Data is stored on our own server. | Analytics (cookieless) | No cookies set |
Why do we use strictly necessary cookies?
Strictly necessary cookies (such as your authentication session) are required for the service to function. Without them, you cannot stay signed in. These do not require your consent under GDPR and the UK PECR.
Analytics — your privacy matters
We use Umami, a privacy-first, open-source analytics platform that:
- Does not use cookies or local storage for tracking
- Does not collect any personal data or IP addresses
- Is hosted on our own server in the EU — no data is sent to third parties
- Is fully GDPR compliant without requiring cookie consent
Third-party cookies
Veya does not use any third-party advertising or marketing cookies. We do not integrate Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or similar tracking tools.
How to manage cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking session cookies will sign you out of Veya. Each browser handles this differently:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
