Who We Are

Veya is a product of Vavyan Ltd ("we", "our", "us"). We build AI-powered voice recording and transcription tools. Contact: privacy@vavyan.com

What We Collect

Account information: email address, name, avatar (via OAuth providers)
Audio recordings and transcripts you create or upload
Usage data: minutes consumed, features used, session information
Payment data (handled by Stripe — we never store card details)

How We Use Your Data

To provide transcription, AI generation, and sharing features
To manage your subscription and billing
To send product and service emails (opt-out available in settings)
To improve the platform using aggregated, anonymised usage data

AI Processing

Audio you upload or record is sent to our transcription providers (Deepgram, Google AI, OpenAI) for processing. These providers operate under their own data processing agreements and are subject to GDPR-compliant data processing agreements where applicable. We do not use your audio to train AI models.

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on servers within the European Union. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Data Retention

Recordings and transcripts are retained while your account is active. You can delete recordings at any time. On account deletion, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to processing
Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority
